But by allowing it, isn't God saying that it's His will?  Consider this:  God's Word instructs us that Satan prowls around like a lion seeking whom He may devour.  He comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  He wants to discourage you to depression and suicide.  God's Word is the anchor, but God cannot renew our minds for us. He cannot abstain from sexual immorality for us. He cannot resist stealing for us.  "[You] Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
